General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement ShoreTel solutions at the customer site or via a cloud based solution
  • Set up, program and pre-test all new systems for on-site installation.  
  • Execute remote support sessions directly into customer systems 
  • Technical assistance for hardware, software and/or applications 
  • Answer, track and resolve customer support, TAC related issues
  • Resolutions, root cause analysis and documentation of all customer support issues, providing timely and effective resolution to tickets based on internal and external service level agreements
  • Plan, execute and complete upgrades and projects
  • Troubleshoot and repair network cabling/connectivity issues
  • Configure, deploy and manage server hardware and software configurations to include but not limited to, Microsoft Server & Small Business Server, Exchange, Terminal Services, SQL, Active Directory, Citrix, RAID, virtual environments (XenServer, VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • Configure, deploy and manage network infrastructure appliances to include but not limited to, switches, routers, wireless access points and firewalls.
  • Maintain all technical certifications required to keep current with manufacturer’s technical requirements 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum Certification Required – ShoreTel’s Basic Implementation Training (3200).  Advanced Engineer and Contact Center certifications a plus.
  • 3-5 years relevant Voice over IP experience
  • 2-4 years of administration experience of Microsoft Server Platforms 2003, 2008, and 2012
  • 2-4 years of network administration
  • 2-4 years of VMWARE or XenServer virtualization administration
  • Networking Skills including but not limited to: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, SIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS, Ping and Tracert, H.323, and SIP media gateway 
  • Understanding of basic network concepts such as routing and sub netting, jitter, and latency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively 
  • Ability to handle escalations and small projects with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of basic network concepts such as routing and sub netting, jitter, and latency

Preferred Skills and Experience:  

  • MCP, MCSE or CCNA certifications
  • Mitel, Cisco, & Avaya expertise a plus.
  • Experience providing services in the VOIP, PBX and data communications fields.
  • Hands-on experience with Wide Area Network technologies, including T1 circuits, point-to-point, VPN, and MPLS configurations.
  • VMware ESXi/ vSphere experience
  • Microsoft Server 2012 R2, 2008, Exchange 2003-2010, Windows 7
  • Experience with physical layer telephony deployments (cables, cross connects)

Education: 

  • College degree highly preferred
  • A+, Network Coursework required
